Pachnes Mountain Loop

A full-day 15 km loop to Pachnes (2,453m), the second highest peak in Crete in the White Mountains. Route starts from the Kallergi mountain refuge (accessible by 4WD). Rocky and exposed terrain with no water on route — carry 3 litres. Strong navigation skills required in poor visibility. Best July to September. The Kallergi refuge offers emergency shelter and can be pre-booked for overnight stays.
