Matala Caves Coastal Path

A 3 km coastal walk from the famous hippie beach of Matala, past the Neolithic cave dwellings carved into the cliffs, to the quieter Red Beach (Kokkini Paralia). The clifftop path offers sweeping views over the Mesara Gulf. The cave site charges a small entrance fee. Best April to October. Wear shoes with grip. Tavernas and cafes at Matala.
