Kalypso Gorge and Waterfall

A scenic 4 km gorge trail near Plakias ending at a seasonal waterfall, in the Rethymno region. The path is shaded and follows a stream bed through dramatic limestone formations. Spring and early summer are best when the waterfall is flowing. Park at the Plakias junction. Walking shoes are fine. Take water — the stream water is not reliable for drinking.
