Chania Film Festival Opening
The 14th Chania Film Festival opens on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, with a premiere screening of The Dragon by acclaimed director Nikos Koundouros. This emblematic work of Greek cinema brings ancient tragedy to modern Greek reality through neorealism and film noir. The screening will be honored by the presence of Soteria Matziri-Koundouro and collaborators of the great director. The festival celebrates 100 years since Koundouros' birth and Manos Hatzidakis' legacy.
