A weak magnitude 2.9 earthquake was recorded in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea on Thursday evening, March 26, 2026, at 9:48 PM local time (GMT +2). The quake was centered approximately 81 kilometers west of Kissamos in the Chania region of Crete, Greece.
According to seismic monitoring, the tremor was relatively minor and caused no reported damage or injuries to the local population.
