Monday, 6 July 2026/SourceFlashnews/1 min read
The Mesara Agricultural Fair 2026 opens on Thursday, July 9 in Vori, a village in the Mesara plain south of Heraklion, and runs for four days through Sunday, July 12. The fair is one of Crete's main agricultural exhibitions, showcasing local produce, livestock, farming equipment, and traditional products from the island's primary sector. Vori is located approximately 45 kilometers southwest of Heraklion, roughly a one-hour drive. Visitors staying in Heraklion or the Messara region can easily combine a visit with nearby attractions such as the Minoan palace of Phaistos and the beaches of the south coast. The fair is a good opportunity to sample and purchase authentic Cretan food products, olive oil, and regional specialties directly from local producers. Expect increased traffic on roads leading to the Mesara area during the fair dates.
