Back to newsOn Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 7:00 to 8:00 PM, the Mikis Theodorakis Theatre in Chania hosts a public discussion centered on the book "Lalo sou ta" (I Tell You Things), a collection of historical testimonies documenting the refugee experience of people displaced from Famagusta, Cyprus. The event also features the book "En Chanioisi," connected to the same theme. Famagusta, known in Greek as Ammochostos, was abandoned by its Greek Cypriot population following the 1974 Turkish military intervention, and remains a sensitive and deeply personal subject across Greece and Cyprus. The discussion is open to the public and offers visitors a rare opportunity to engage with living history and local cultural memory. The Mikis Theodorakis Theatre is located in central Chania. Admission details were not specified; arriving a few minutes early is recommended.
