Back to newsCrete has launched a Regional Climate Adaptation Hub, a new initiative dedicated to monitoring and responding to climate-related challenges across the island. As part of this launch, the Hub has opened public digital communication channels, giving residents and visitors access to climate updates, environmental alerts, and regional adaptation plans.
For tourists, this means easier access to official information about weather conditions, heat warnings, and environmental safety during their stay. Crete regularly experiences intense summer heat and occasional extreme weather events, so having a centralized, publicly accessible source for climate updates is a practical resource. Visitors traveling between June and September, when temperatures frequently exceed 35 degrees Celsius, are encouraged to follow the Hub's digital channels for any advisories that may affect outdoor activities, hiking, or beach safety during their trip.
