Greece's Minister of Culture, Lina Mendoni, traveled to Heraklion to inaugurate a new permanent exhibition at the Heraklion Archaeological Museum. The minister toured the exhibition spaces and received a detailed briefing on the collection's contents and historical significance. The Heraklion Archaeological Museum, located in the city center on Xanthoudidou Street, is one of the most important museums in Greece and home to the world's finest collection of Minoan artifacts, including the renowned Phaistos Disc and frescoes from the Palace of Knossos. The new exhibition adds further depth to an already exceptional collection. Visitors to Crete should prioritize the museum as a key stop. It is open daily, with reduced hours on Mondays. Entry is approximately 15 euros for adults. The museum is easily reachable on foot from Heraklion's main square, Lions Square.
