Construction on the North Road Axis of Crete (BOAK) between Neapoli and Agios Nikolaos has a new completion deadline: October 30, 2027. This section connects the inland town of Neapoli with the popular coastal hub of Agios Nikolaos in eastern Crete. Once finished, the upgraded highway will significantly reduce travel times between central and eastern Crete, making destinations like Elounda, Spinalonga, and the Lasithi region more accessible from Heraklion.
