Tourists visiting beaches around Rethymno can continue their activities normally, but as always, swimmers should stay aware of their surroundings, follow any local signage or lifeguard instructions, and avoid swimming far from shore. The Rethymno coastline remains one of Crete's most popular destinations, with numerous beaches easily accessible from the town center.
