Back to newsPlanned electricity outages are scheduled across several areas of Crete on Friday, June 19, due to maintenance and infrastructure works carried out by DEDDIE, the Greek electricity distribution network operator. The affected areas include parts of the Heraklion region. Outages are temporary and linked to scheduled grid work rather than any emergency or fault. Tourists staying in the affected neighborhoods may experience interruptions to air conditioning, charging facilities, and other electrical services for a period during the day. If you are planning to use electric vehicle chargers, work remotely, or rely on refrigerated medication, check with your accommodation in advance to confirm whether your area is affected and when power is expected to be restored. Most hotels and larger properties have backup generators for essential services.
