At this magnitude, the tremor was very weak and likely not felt by most people in the area. No damage or injuries have been reported. Earthquakes of this size are common in the eastern Mediterranean and pose no risk to visitors. Tourists staying in or traveling to the Palaiochora area, the Sfakia coastline, or the Samaria Gorge region can continue their plans without concern. No travel disruptions or safety advisories are in effect.
