Celestyal Cruises Expands Greek Routes with Agios Nikolaos Stop

Tuesday, 23 June 2026/SourceFlashnews/1 min read
Celestyal Cruises has expanded its Greek itineraries, with Agios Nikolaos in eastern Crete now holding a regular stop on its cruise schedule. The port town, known for its picturesque lake connected to the sea and its relaxed waterfront cafe culture, joins Rhodes as a confirmed destination on Celestyal's 7-night cruise routes. Agios Nikolaos serves as a convenient base for exploring the Lasithi Plateau, the ancient site of Knossos (roughly 65 km away), and the scenic Gulf of Mirabello coastline. Cruise passengers arriving at Agios Nikolaos will find the town center walkable from the port, with local taxis and rental car agencies available for day trips further east toward Elounda and Spinalonga island. The addition signals growing cruise traffic to eastern Crete, so visitors planning independent travel to the area during summer should expect busier waterfront areas on port days.
