A voluntary beach cleanup is taking place at Tavronitis Beach on Sunday, May 17, starting at 9:00 AM. The event is organized by the Tavronitis Cultural Association, with support from local volunteers and community groups.
Tavronitis is a coastal village on the northwestern coast of Crete, roughly 25 kilometers west of Chania, easily accessible by car along the E75 highway. The beach is a popular spot for both locals and visitors during the summer season.
Tourists interested in participating are welcome to join the morning effort. Bring gloves and wear comfortable clothing. The cleanup is a good opportunity to connect with the local community while contributing to the preservation of one of Crete's coastal areas. No registration appears to be required. Check with the Tavronitis Cultural Association locally for any updates closer to the date.
