Five New Books Celebrate Kantanos-Selino's Heritage and Culture

Five new books celebrating the history, culture, and natural heritage of the Kantanos-Selino municipality are being presented at the Chania Cultural Center (Πνευματικό Κέντρο Χανίων) this afternoon. The municipality of Kantanos-Selino covers the southwestern tip of Crete, a rugged and largely undiscovered area known for its Byzantine churches, gorges, and traditional villages. The five publications explore the region's distinct identity, offering insight into local traditions, landscapes, and historical landmarks. Visitors with an interest in Cretan culture and history may find the event a worthwhile introduction to this lesser-visited part of the island. Kantanos-Selino is accessible from Chania city by car, approximately 50 kilometers to the southwest along the coastal and mountain roads.
