Crete Releases Map of Scheduled Electricity Outages

Tuesday, 9 June 2026/SourceGoogle News/1 min read
Crete's power grid operator has published an updated map showing scheduled electricity outages across the island. These planned interruptions are typically carried out for maintenance or infrastructure upgrades and can affect various municipalities for several hours at a time. Tourists staying in affected areas may experience temporary loss of air conditioning, hot water, and phone charging during outages. It is advisable to check with your accommodation ahead of time, keep devices charged, and carry cash as card payment terminals may go offline. Restaurants and shops in affected zones could also have limited service during outage windows. The outage schedule and map are available through the local distribution network operator (HEDNO), and most disruptions are announced 24 to 48 hours in advance.
