Missile Component Washes Ashore on Cretan Beach

Sunday, 31 May 2026/SourceGoogle News/1 min read
A missile component washed ashore on a beach near Agios Nikolaos, in eastern Crete. This is not the first such incident in the area, as similar debris has previously been found along the Cretan coastline, likely related to military exercises conducted in the eastern Mediterranean. Greek authorities were notified and responded to secure the object. Beachgoers in the Agios Nikolaos area should be aware that if they encounter any unusual metallic debris or unidentified objects on the beach, they should not touch or approach them and should immediately contact local police or the coast guard. The incident does not affect general access to beaches in the region, and Agios Nikolaos remains a popular and safe destination for visitors.
