The Suda Bay War Cemetery, located approximately 6 kilometers east of Chania on the Akrotiri peninsula, is one of the most significant World War II sites in Greece and is open to visitors year-round, free of charge. The cemetery is maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and offers a peaceful, sobering tribute to those who fought to defend Crete.
