This event took place well northwest of Crete and is not directly related to the island. Earthquakes of this magnitude are common in the seismically active Aegean region and are generally not felt by people on the surface. No damage, injuries, or disruptions have been reported. Visitors to Crete are not affected and can continue their travels and activities as normal. Greece's seismic monitoring network tracks all activity routinely, and no follow-up warnings have been issued.
