Rocket Component Safely Cleared From Crete Beach

A rocket component that washed ashore on a beach at Kalo Chorio, near Agios Nikolaos in eastern Crete, has been safely removed by authorities. A worker from DAEAN, the Greek Army's explosive ordnance disposal service, spotted the unusual object on the beach and immediately alerted the relevant services. The necessary procedures were carried out and the component was cleared without incident. The beach at Kalo Chorio is a popular destination for visitors to the Agios Nikolaos area. There is no ongoing risk to the public, and the area has returned to normal following the operation. Tourists planning to visit beaches in eastern Crete can do so without concern.
