If you spot smoke or an active fire, call the Greek emergency number 112 or the Fire Service directly at 199 immediately. Rental car drivers and hikers in forested or scrubland areas should stay on marked roads and trails and monitor local announcements. Check conditions before visiting inland or mountainous areas such as the Dikti or Asterousia ranges.
