The small single-nave church of Saint Anthony Eunuch (Agios Antonios) is well hidden in a wooded location of Agios Thomas , next to Domaine Stratakis . The temple dates back from the Venetian Era and bears no frescoes.
It operated as a dependency of the monastery of Vrontissi (there are traces of nuns’ cells) and it had a special operation license by the Ottomans. The nunnery for some time housed a Girls' Orphanage and we still see carved tombs at the courtyard, where bones of children were identified.
The church celebrates on January 17 and recently it is customary to be open on Easter ( Holy Saturday ).
