Read the story

The quiet beach of East Tsigounas , mostly known as Petrakis , is located 1km east of Lendas and 76km south of Heraklion . it is located on the foots of the steep and inhospitable slopes of Asterousia Mountains . East Tsigounas can be accessed by car from Lendas through the road that heads to the east, to the local port.

One part of it is called Ostria, named after a local small hotel. In East Tsigounas you will find 2-3 taverns with rooms and a few houses, forming a small hamlet.

In front of the settlement stretches a long beach with beautiful round pebbles. Along the beach there are many tamarisk trees, where you can find shade and camp.

The beach is not well organized, but there are some umbrellas offered by the taverns.
