Chronotopia Sculpture Wins 2026 Art Prize, Opens in Agios Nikolaos

A new sculptural installation called **Chronotopia**, created by Canadian artists Caitlind r.c. Brown and Wayne Garrett, has officially opened in Agios Nikolaos, Crete. The work was awarded the 2026 Art Prize by the Mamidakis Foundation, one of Greece's prominent cultural institutions. The installation is now on public display in Agios Nikolaos, a coastal town on the eastern side of Crete, approximately 65 km east of Heraklion. Visitors to the area can view the sculpture as part of their stay. Agios Nikolaos is a popular tourist destination known for its scenic harbor and Lake Voulismeni. No entry fee or specific visiting hours were mentioned in the original announcement. Tourists traveling along the northern coastal road of eastern Crete can easily include a visit to the installation as part of their itinerary.
