Trail Vasiliki - Monastiraki - Thripti - Kavousi

This E4 European trail part ascends to the piney range of Thripti and offers amazing views to the gulf of Mirabelo . The trail is well signed with the E4 yellow - black marks and poles.

Our course starts from Vassiliki and comes by the antiquities of the Minoan settlement and heads east to the exit of the imposing gorge Ha , at the scenic village Monastiraki . From Monastiraki we start ascending to Thripti settlement and we soon enter the pine wood of Thripti range , while having very nice views to Pahia Ammos .

We come by the starting part of Ha gorge and the old chapel of Agia Anna , before reaching the fertile plateau of Thripti and the homonym village. We can make a stop for food or coffee here.

We then start descending to Kavoussi village via trekking trail. We come by the Postminoan settlements of Kastro , Vrondas and Azorias and meet the huge ancient olive tree of Azorias , the oldest recorded in the world.
