Church of Transfiguration at Kissos

The double aisled church of the Transfiguration of Christ the Savior and Saint Catherine is located in the settlement of Kissos , province Agios Vasilios. It is the central temple of this beautiful village.

The second aisle was added to the originally single-room church of Christ, today's south aisle of the Transfiguration. The old aisle carries 14th-century frescoes painted by a folklore artist.

A depiction of the founder Dimitrios Vergilis survives on the west end of the south wall. The condition of the murals is generally poor.
