On the E4 European trail that connects Sougia and Paleochora we meet the astonishing tiny beach with deep blue water of Astropelekita . We meet this sandy beach to the east of Plaka stony cape and before starting ascending to Flomes or Elide Cape for reaching ancient Lissos .
This cove is a great chance to have a cooling bath while hiking the E4 trail. The name Astropelekita means thunderbolt in Greek and is taken after a myth which tells that the local whitish rocks were formed after Olympian Gods threw a thunderbolt at the area.
