The epicenter was located approximately 16 km southeast of Goudouras, a small coastal village in the Lasithi regional unit near the southeastern tip of the island. At this magnitude, the quake was light and is unlikely to have caused any damage to buildings or infrastructure. Tourists in the area may have felt a brief tremor but there is no cause for concern. No tsunami warning was issued. Southeastern Crete, including nearby destinations such as Makrigialos and Ierapetra, remains safe to visit and no disruption to travel or tourist activities is expected.
