Back to newsA road safety awareness seminar is being held this evening at 8 p.m. in the main square of Voukolies, a village in the Chania regional unit of western Crete. The event is organized by the Voukolies Cultural Association and focuses on accident prevention on local roads. Voukolies sits along the inland route connecting Chania city to the western coast, a road used by tourists heading toward Falasarna, Kissamos, and the Gramvousa peninsula. Visitors driving in western Crete should be aware that rural roads in this area can be narrow and winding. Driving cautiously, respecting speed limits, and avoiding night driving on unfamiliar mountain routes are practical steps that significantly reduce risk. The seminar is open to the public and is conducted in Greek.
