Over 4,600 cruise passengers arrived in Chania today, with the Sun Princess among the large vessels docking at Souda Bay. Souda, located approximately 7 kilometers east of Chania's city center, is the main port serving western Crete and one of the largest natural harbors in the Mediterranean. On high-traffic cruise days like today, visitors to Chania's Old Town, the Venetian Harbor, and the covered market can expect larger crowds, particularly during midday hours. Tourists already staying in the area should plan to visit popular sites earlier in the morning or later in the afternoon to avoid congestion.
