Skinias Dam Lake

The artificial lake of Skinias is located 1km north of Skinias village, beside the River Baritis , which is a tributary of Anapodaris river . The lake was constructed in order to irrigate the local land.

With the passage of time it has become an important stop for many migratory birds (including ducks and herons) and other aquatic organisms such as the Cretan frog, tortoises, etc.
