Prina pinewood

Prina village is located 24 km southeast of Agios Nikolaos and 14 km north of Ierapetra . The hills of Prina are covered by a very important pine forest, which sadly has been burnt several times recently.

The area hosts the beautiful canyon Korakas , which waters the river Kalos ending on the beach Istron . Apart from the pine tree in the region and particularly in the road embankments of the route Kalamafka – Prina , you will meet clusters of the Cretan ebony ( Ebenus cretica ) which is favored by human activity throughout the eastern Crete.
