BOAK Highway Traffic Restrictions Due to Roadworks Through July 10

Temporary traffic restrictions are in place on the BOAK highway between Adelianos Kampos and Piggianos Kampos, effective daily until July 10, 2026. The measures are due to ongoing roadworks along this stretch of the north coast road. During working hours, traffic flow on one or both lanes may be disrupted. Once daily works conclude, both directions are fully restored. Tourists driving along the northern coast of Crete, particularly those traveling between Rethymno and Heraklion, should expect possible delays on this section. Allow extra travel time, follow signage and temporary speed limits, and consider checking local traffic updates before setting out. The restrictions are expected to lift completely after July 10.
