Students Mark 85th Anniversary of Battle of Crete

Students from the 2nd Primary School of Souda gathered Friday afternoon at the Allied War Cemetery in Vlyte, near Souda Bay, to mark the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Crete. The event included a brief historical presentation exploring the history of the Souda area during World War II. The Allied War Cemetery in Vlyte is open to visitors year-round and holds the graves of Commonwealth soldiers who died during the 1941 Battle of Crete. It is a short drive from Chania city center, situated along the Souda Bay road. Entry is free.
