A public discussion titled "Cretan Culture in Crisis?" will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Orthodox Academy of Crete (OAK) in Kolympari, on the western tip of the island near Chania. This is the fourth session in an ongoing lecture series exploring the state of Cretan cultural identity, traditions, and heritage in the modern era. The event is open to the public and conducted in Greek. Visitors with an interest in Greek culture, history, or local society are welcome to attend. The Orthodox Academy of Crete is a respected cultural and religious institution set along the seafront, and worth a visit in its own right. Kolympari is approximately 23 kilometers west of Chania, easily reachable by car or local bus.
