Motorcyclist Narrowly Escapes Death After Hitting Pothole in Crete

A motorcyclist was seriously injured in Crete after hitting a large pothole and being dragged several meters along the road. The rider stated that only the motorcycle hit the metal road barrier, adding that had his body followed, he likely would not have survived. The incident was captured on video. Road surface quality remains a known issue across parts of Crete, particularly on secondary and rural roads. Tourists renting motorcycles, scooters, or bicycles should exercise caution, reduce speed on unfamiliar roads, and watch for uneven surfaces, potholes, and exposed metal infrastructure.
