Back to newsThe Venetian Walls of Heraklion have officially opened refreshment kiosks for visitors. The Venetian Walls, built between the 15th and 17th centuries, encircle the historic city center and are one of the best-preserved fortification systems in the Mediterranean. Tourists can walk the full perimeter of the walls, taking in panoramic views over the city and the sea. The new kiosks provide a convenient stop for drinks and snacks during the walk, which covers several kilometers. The walls are accessible from multiple entry points around the old city and are free to explore. This addition makes the experience more comfortable, particularly during summer when temperatures in Heraklion regularly exceed 30 degrees Celsius.
