Back to newsPlanned electrical maintenance work by DEDDIE (the Greek electricity grid operator) in central Chania on Sunday, July 5 has run over schedule. The outage, originally announced to last from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, has extended beyond its planned timeframe, leaving homes and businesses in the area without power. Tourists staying in central Chania may experience disruptions to air conditioning, elevators, and other electrical services. If you are affected, check with your accommodation for updates. Cafes and restaurants in the area may have limited service. DEDDIE has not yet confirmed a revised restoration time, so it is worth having a backup plan if you rely on electrically powered services at your lodging or nearby businesses.
