Museum of Water and Hydraulics in Zakros

Near the lush green Springs of Ano Zakros one can visit the Museum of Water and Hydraulic housed in three restored watermills since 2007. It is noteworthy that the wider area of Zakros till early 20th century depended on Zakros as there were 11 watermills for grinding cereals and olives.

It is a thematic museum which aims to collect any object or other material relevant to the use of water in bygone eras, but also to highlight the importance of water in our days by using it rationally and respectfully.
