Akritamos beach at Koufonissi

On the west coast of Koufonissi , at the area where we meet the characteristic white clay of the island, the beautiful beach of Akritamos is formed. Slightly reddish sand and rocky seabed, ideal for exploration, are the main characteristics of this beach.

Access from the ancient theater of Koufonissi is possible via trail. The beach gets its name from the plant crithmum - kritamo ( Crithmum maritimum ), which is very commonly met on the Mediterranean coasts and is used as an aromatic herb.
