The Mayor of Minoa Pediada, Vasilis Kegeroglou, met with Stelios Zacharioudakis, President of the Cretan Winemakers Network, along with the Municipal Councilor for Local Entrepreneurship. The meeting focused on supporting the wine production sector in the Minoa Pediada municipality, located in central Crete between Heraklion and the Lasithi Plateau. This region is home to several vineyards and small wineries producing local varieties including Vidiano and Kotsifali. For visitors, the area offers wine tourism opportunities such as vineyard visits and tastings. This kind of municipal-industry cooperation typically aims to promote local producers and improve visitor access to cellar-door experiences. If you are traveling through central Crete, look for signposted winery routes near the villages of Arkalochori and Kastelli Pediados, where several estates welcome guests during the summer season.
