A large fire broke out at a warehouse in the Malades area of Heraklion, Crete's capital. Firefighters deployed significant resources to contain the blaze and successfully prevented it from spreading to neighboring businesses. The fire has since been brought under control. Damage to the warehouse was reported as substantial, but no injuries occurred. Malades is an industrial and commercial district on the outskirts of Heraklion, away from the main tourist areas and city center. Visitors to Heraklion are not expected to be affected. No road closures or disruptions to access routes toward the city center, port, or airport have been reported in connection with this incident.
