Voidomatis or Vouidomatos (i.e. ox’s eye) is located 62km south of Heraklion and 2.5km east of the settlement Treis Ekklisies , on the southern slopes of Asterousia Mounts . The impressive technical gorge of Mesosfinis with towering walls and wild cliffs, a very common landscape for Asterousia, exits at Voidomatis.

At the exit of the gorge, a stunning beach with sand and blue water is shaped. There are two big rocks in the sea.

However, the characteristic feature of this place is the awesome huge cave (ox's eye), formed in the east end of the beach. This sea cave is the eye of the ox!

Access here can be done through the old dirt road that connected Treis Ekklisies to village Mournia . Around Voidomatis there are several bays with beautiful beaches.

You won’t find anyone there, except from some locals. Plysimo Beach Just 100m east of Voidomatis, you'll find the small amazing beach of Plysimo (i.e.

Washing). where you can reach with quite tough climbing. The beach has coarse sand and is formed at the exit of another small gorge of the area.

The name derives from the shepherds that used to wash their sheep at this point. Indeed locals know the beach as Tsagaraki's Plysimo, after someone named Dimitris Tsagarakis that used for his sheep.
