Lire l'histoire

The Byzantine church of Saint Paraskevi (Agia Paraskevi) at the village Siva , province Temenos , is a small single-nave church with a dome, with the niche of the sanctuary being carved in the natural stone. It was probably founded in the 13th century, as we can deduce from its architectural type and the older, barely visible, first layer of its frescoes.

In a later period, probably of the late 19th or early 20th century, a small vaulted narthex was added to the north. The second layer of the mural decoration that dates from the beginning of the 14th century includes mainly due to the small size of the temple depictions of individual saints.

The quarter sphere of the arch depicts Our Lady of Blachernae , the drum of the dome depicts the Pantocrator with the prophets and in its pendentives the four evangelists. The side walls, except for Deesis , depict Saint Anthony , Saint Paraskevi and Saint Theodore .

Outside the church, we meet a nice fountain and a small park.
