Lire l'histoire
The church of the Virgin Mary (Panagia) which is located in the cemetery of the village Lambiotes is a small one-room arched temple of the 14th century. The temple was expanded westwards during the 15th century, when an arcosolium was also added to the south side ( arcosolium is a Venetian burial monument).
The interior walls were painted in the second half of the 14th century by a skilled painter who followed the developments of Paleologean art. Various saints and Christ the Light bearer are depicted, while in the arch there are scenes of the Evangelical cycle, such as Ascension, Baptism, Lazarus, Betrayal, Crucifixion, etc.
