Minor Earthquake Hits Southwestern Crete; No Damage Expected

A minor earthquake measuring magnitude 2.6 occurred on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 6:29 am local time (GMT+3), centered approximately 68 kilometers southwest of Palaiochora, a coastal town in the Chania regional unit of southwestern Crete.
