The Battle of Crete was one of the most significant and costly battles of World War II in the Mediterranean, and remains deeply significant to Cretan identity and memory. The event is open to the public and offers visitors a meaningful opportunity to engage with local history. The Chania Cultural Center is located in the city center, easily accessible on foot from the Old Town and the Venetian Harbor.
