Children's Firsthand Accounts of Crete's 1941 Battle Presented

A book presentation event takes place on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 7:30 PM at the Chania Cultural Center (Πνευματικό Κέντρο Χανίων). The book, titled "Children's Testimonies from the Battle of Crete and the Occupation II," is the second volume collecting firsthand accounts from children who lived through the 1941 Battle of Crete and the subsequent German Occupation. The Battle of Crete was one of the most significant and costly battles of World War II in the Mediterranean, and remains deeply significant to Cretan identity and memory. The event is open to the public and offers visitors a meaningful opportunity to engage with local history. The Chania Cultural Center is located in the city center, easily accessible on foot from the Old Town and the Venetian Harbor.
