Mylopotamos Secures €2.4M for Rural Road Upgrades

The Municipality of Mylopotamos, in the Rethymno regional unit of central Crete, has secured €2.4 million in funding for rural road infrastructure improvements. The project will upgrade access routes to agricultural land and livestock farming areas across this predominantly rural municipality, which covers a large inland and coastal zone between Rethymno and Heraklion. For visitors, the works may cause temporary disruptions on minor rural roads in the Mylopotamos area, particularly routes leading to villages, olive groves, and traditional farming estates.
