The protective fencing surrounding the Lions' Fountain in Heraklion has been removed, restoring full public access to one of Crete's most iconic landmarks. The Morosini Fountain, located in Lions' Square in the heart of Heraklion's old town, had been enclosed during restoration or maintenance works. With the barriers now gone, visitors can once again approach the 17th-century Venetian fountain up close, making it fully accessible for sightseeing and photography.
